Chemical Technician II

This Chemical Technician II position is part of the Solid Support Manufacturing (SSM) Team located in Coralville, Iowa and will be on-site. At IDT, we are one global team. Work Schedule: In this role you will be required to work the night shift from 8 pm - 6:30 am, Monday night to Friday morning. This role may also be eligible for overtime, potentially 2X pay depending on business needs. The work schedule may be subject to change based on business need with advance notice. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Produce high quality chemical products that are used in DNA/RNA synthesis in a timely manner according to production schedules + Ensure products meet end-user specifications through in-process testing, as well as troubleshoot and correct non-conforming products + Participate on the Hazardous Material Spill Response Team The essential requirements of the job include: + Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or related field or associate’s degree with at least 2+ years of applicable experience in a science related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Ability to meet all required IDT certifications required for the role, such as HAZWOPER 24hr-Technician Certification (requiring Medically fit to participate in IDT’s Respirator Program), RCRA awareness certification, certified Powered Industrial Truck Operator The ability to medically clear and adhere to IDT’s Respiratory Program is a condition of employment and continued employment. Individuals in these functions will need to be tested, pass, and be fitted for respirator use as part of standard personal-protective equipment. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Safely working with hazardous chemicals and making sound decisions without direct supervisor input + Working with basic chemistry and mathematics, including unit conversions necessary to perform in-process adjustments This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
