Mid-Level Chemist Offers Benefits | Monday - Friday from 8am - 4:30pm | Medical Device Company Job Description The Chemist in this role will be supporting their structural heart team doing chemical and physical testing of various solutions and materials to support routine manufacturing and engineering projects. The technician would follow written test methods and work under the guidance of staff members. Primarily quality control testing. Responsibilities + Support routine manufacturing using analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, DSC, UPLC, and FT-IR in a high-throughput environment. + Perform wet chemistry testing to support incoming chemicals/materials per USP methodologies. + Follow written test method procedures to execute routine laboratory tests in a GMP environment. + Document, analyze, and report test results using Water’s Electronic Notebook software system and LabVantage LIMS software. + Expand working knowledge of analytical techniques/instrumentation and troubleshooting skills. + Assist scientists with method development and validation of test methods as needed. + Support scientists with investigational analysis on medical devices and components as needed. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a science-related field. + 6+ months of analytical chemistry experience, with HPLC being most important. + Ability to operate analytical instrumentation (GC, HPLC, FT-IR, ICP, TOC, DSC, TGA) in a high throughput environment. + Experience documenting laboratory work in electronic/paper notebook systems according to GMP guidelines. + Working knowledge of MS Office, with an emphasis on MS Excel. + Strong communication skills, with the ability to ask questions when unclear. + Accountability and ownership of one's work. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with Empower software. + 6+ months of quality control industry experience. + Personality traits: eager, attentive, proactive, collaborator, team player, encouraging, flexible with shifting priorities. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
