Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Chemist to join our growing medical device start-up. The successful candidate will execute preparation, testing, and data analysis for HPLC assays. This role involves working with various chemical solutions, accurately measuring reagents, and maintaining laboratory equipment. The Chemist will also be involved in troubleshooting laboratory instruments and assisting in method validations and investigations.

ResponsibilitiesExecute preparation, testing, and data analysis for HPLC assays.Perform pipetting, transferring, and serial dilutions of chemicals and solutions.Accurately weigh and measure reagents, standards, and samples.Adjust, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment such as balances, repeaters, and pH meters.Troubleshoot HPLC, UV-Vis, Spectrophotometer, gas chromatography, and dissolution instruments.Prepare mobile phases, media, and standards.Restock chemistry lab supplies.Author and assist in the execution of method validations, test protocols, and IQOQPQs.Author and assist with Out of Specification (OOS) and Out of Trend (OOT) investigations, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), Nonconformance Material Reports (NCMRs), and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).Assist and lead investigations related to chemistry.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Chemistry.1-2 years of experience in HPLC within a Medical Device or Pharmaceutical setting.Experience with FDA and GMP regulations.Proficiency in using laboratory equipment such as pH meters and pipettes.Strong understanding of chemistry principles.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in method validation and test protocol execution.Experience with OOS/OOT investigations, CAPAs, NCMRs, and SCARs.Strong troubleshooting skills for laboratory instruments.Ability to work collaboratively with a team of chemists.Work Environment

The role is based in a laboratory environment, requiring the use of normal Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The Chemist will work alongside 3-4 other chemists. The company is a growing medical device start-up, anticipating an increase in workload over the next year.
