As a chemist, you will ensure a high level of accuracy by performing analysis utilizing complex instrumentation such as HPLC. This role requires critical analytical thinking and decision-making skills. You will be responsible for routine maintenance and calibration of instruments, providing status updates to your supervisor or manager, and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Additionally, you will perform sample preparation, interpret data, calculate final results, and enter data into documentation system.
ResponsibilitiesPerform analysis utilizing complex instrumentation such as HPLC.Carry out routine maintenance and calibration of instruments.Provide supervisor/manager with updates on workstation status, including advance notification of any delays.Review summary reports to plan and organize daily work.Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) when conducting work.Perform sample preparation and procedures prior to analysis as described in the test methods.Interpret data, calculate final results, and enter data.Meet quality and specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analyzed within holding time requirements.Identify and communicate procedural non-conformances to the supervisor.Employ proper laboratory techniques to minimize the risk of mislabeling, sample mix-up, and cross-contamination between samples and other materials.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field.0-3 years of relevant experience in analytical chemistry.Experience with HPLC, GC, or IC.Strong science knowledge and experience in laboratory practices.Competent in reviewing analytical procedures and practices.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.High degree of accuracy in work.Positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Good time-management, communication, multi-tasking, and priority-setting skills.Ability to adapt to a changing environment.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with mass spectrometry.Strong analytical thinking and decision-making skills.Work Environment
The work environment is a chemistry lab. The position is for the 2nd shift, with hours from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Training will be conducted on the 1st shift for about one month until you are ready to move to the 2nd shift. No weekends are required.
