Job Title: Chemist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Chemist with expertise in electrochemistry, materials characterization, and advanced imaging techniques. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Chemistry or a related field and have a minimum of 7 years of laboratory experience. This role involves conducting complex research, developing and optimizing materials, analyzing nanostructures, and supporting interdisciplinary R&D initiatives. Experience in team management, working across scientific disciplines (especially biology, engineering, and data science), and start-up environments is a significant plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Experimental Research & Development:

Design and conduct electrochemical experiments, material synthesis, and characterization.Utilize SEM, Raman spectroscopy, and image processing techniques to analyze and characterize materials.Develop and optimize synthesis methods for advanced materials, ensuring reproducibility and scalability.

Data Analysis & Interpretation:

Apply advanced image processing and analysis tools to extract meaningful insights.Interpret experimental data, troubleshoot inconsistencies, and refine methodologies.

Laboratory Operations & Safety:

Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance.Adhere to safety and compliance protocols, fostering a culture of best practices in laboratory environments.

Collaboration & Leadership:

Collaborate with biology-focused researchers, engineers, and external partners.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior scientists and technicians.Contribute to research discussions, grant applications, and technical documentation.

Innovation & Process Improvement:

Stay updated on emerging technologies and methodologies in electrochemistry and material science.Drive continuous improvement in lab processes and experiment design.

Skills & Qualifications:

Core Skills: Electrochemistry, SEM, Raman spectroscopy, image processing, materials characterization, nanostructure synthesis, software and programming.Leadership & Collaboration: Prior experience managing teams or mentoring junior scientists is a strong plus. Proven ability to work in interdisciplinary teams, particularly with biologists, data scientists, or engineers. Experience in start-up or dynamic R&D environments is highly valued.Communication & Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and refine experimental methodologies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation, reporting, and presenting research findings. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
