Job Title: ChemistJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Chemist to join our team. This is an entry-level opportunity to gain experience with a growing team that has over 30 years within the Environmental Industry. In this role, you will be expected to work within Hazardous Waste, alongside four other Chemists. You will spend the majority of your day on your feet, collecting and testing samples using various techniques and equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Follow permit requirements to collect and test compounds and samples, using applied methods and techniques, and company policies.
+ Enter quantities, volumes, and analytical results into waste management software (WMS/Preview).
+ Assist with QA/QC analytical screening parameters as dictated by permit.
+ Use Ph meter, TOC analyzer, spectrometer, and other laboratory instruments.
+ Follow all approved Laboratory SOPs.
+ Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards, including the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemical agents.
+ Assist in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment.
+ Perform other duties as required.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with Ph meter, spectrometer, wet chemistry, and gas chromatography (GC-MS).
+ Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
+ Working knowledge of standard laboratory procedures and the ability to learn new processes.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software for drafting laboratory reports and entering test results.
+ Ability to complete various paperwork requirements properly.
+ Operational knowledge of tools, equipment, and tasks on the job.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Four-year degree in Environmental Related Science, Chemistry, or Bio-Chemistry preferred, with one-year experience in a related industry.
+ Completion of 40-hour OSHA training with 8-hour refresher courses.
+ Experience with pipetting and other laboratory techniques.
Work Environment
You will be working with water, dirt, and soil, alongside four other chemists. The role includes both first and third shifts, with third shift offering an additional pay incentive. You will need to wear a respirator (3M, Half Face) and be on your feet for the majority of the day. Safety protocols are strictly followed, and the best equipment is provided for your protection. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
