Job Title: Analytical Chemist III, Material Science
Work Location: Carlstadt, NJ
This is a technical laboratory position that assists in providing analytical support for application labs, customer service, and product development teams. The work is performed under the direction of the analytical and material science Technical Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
In-depth knowledge of colloid, physical, and materials science to apply solutions to a wide range of problem-solving issues and support all business units. Experience in formulated products with a strong background in organic and physical chemistry to apply to problem-solving. Responsible for projects to demonstrate the feasibility of new concepts to improve understanding of materials interaction and their role in product performance. Use of various techniques for analyzing print defects and finished products related to customer issues. Administer the appropriate project management systems to maintain reporting and status updates. Document all experimental work in a lab notebook using established best practices. Writes reports to communicate findings. Rigorously follows EH&S, laboratory procedures and looks for safety improvements.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, or Materials Science 6+ years of experience working in an analytical lab and with a background in materials characterization. Strong writing and presentation abilities Excellent analytical and mathematical skills Proficient organizational and administrative capabilities
