Chemline Technical Engineer

Responsibilities:

To monitor, perform and/or direct/supervise the chemical analysis and testing of Mistras chemical processing tanks. Review new chemical and coating specifications and when required, develop and implement procedures and/or work instructions. Manage the Mistras analytical lab. Serves as a member of Mistras management team, and to provide technical directions and opinions to Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Planning functions. Periodically monitor and review analytical laboratory logs and records, Review test results and test specimens against the test/verification acceptance criteria and declare and document findings. On acceptable completion of training:

o          Utilize and implement tools and methods for Chem Lab and Chem Line process continuous improvement IAW Std. Procedure CI-8.5.01 Continuous Improvement.

Perform as the Engineering Planner for chemical and coating processes when work load and schedules dictate/allow Maintains and develops new chemical analysis procedures. Ensures that processing tank chemistries are maintained to the approved procedures through the monitoring of the testing and analysis of chemical formulations and other tank control parameters. Ensures that tank analysis schedules are current and maintained and that adds, changes, or special tank make-ups are performed in a safe and planned manner through the supervision of the Chem Lab Technician and/or the performance of these activities as required. When qualified: Perform quoting and/or production planning for chemical processes. Any other activity or task qualified for when directed by Mistras management

 

 

 Requirements:

Preferred: A two (2) year Associate Arts Degree from an accredited Community College with a verifiable minimum of one (1) year experience as a Chem Lab Technician. Including waste water certification Knowledge of chemicals and formulations Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Wastewater treatment experience
