Coordinates and oversees the business activities of UVA Health Children’s and ensures the operations are in accord with the strategic plan of UVA Health Children’s.
Leads the development and evolution of a comprehensive strategic plan, with a focus on growth and market positioning.
Identifies and develops key strategic partnerships to grow the children’s enterprise.
Serves as the champion for employee engagement/culture while performing all duties in a manner consistent with the UVA Health Children’s Culture Statement.
Leads and motivates team members, building a high-performing executive leadership team. Provide leadership to foster a culture of excellence to attract, recruit, develop, motivate, reward and retain high caliber employees essential for organizational success. Develops people and systems to provide atalented, caring and highly competent staff committed to patient and family-centered care in alignment with UVA’s mission and values.
Assesses and monitors organizational performance and communicates areas requiring improvement. In partnership with the CEO and clinical and administrative leadership, committed to support the successful execution of multi-year strategies and system-wide goals that improve clinical quality and safety, seize growth opportunities, enhance the patient experience, ensure value-driven and efficient use of resources, advance the training and development of the workforce, develop stronger alignment with the medical staff, and provide new and enhanced services that respond to community needs as well as differentiate UVA Health Children’s in a competitive and dynamic regional market.
Provides leadership and direction to the development of business plans related to clinical services or products.
Responsible for creating a high-quality patient/family experience. Fosters a patient centered, proactive approach and accountability systems within areas of responsibility which link individual, departmental, organizational, and system-wide priorities, goals, and objectives. In this context, help promote a culture which is responsive, results oriented, efficient, and accountable.
Partners with UVA Health Foundation and local/regional charitable foundations to maximize UVA Health Children’s fundraising efforts.
Maintains positive medical staff relationships through various professional staff committees and activities.
Assures UVA Health Children’s hospital operations are conducted with the highest standards of quality and integrity.
Provide straight-forward and transparent leadership and guidance in improving operational performance, promoting real-time problem solving, while developing and deploying a results-oriented, accountable, responsive, and accessible leadership and management team.
Plans and directs the Children’s Hospital organizational programs and policies in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Integrates and aligns UVA Health Children’s strategic plan into ongoing Medical Center operations to meet the goals of the health system.
Promotes and assists in ensuring a cultural of inclusion and diversity within the Medical Center operations.

Position Compensation Range: $271,336.00 - $434,137.60 AnnualMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's and master's degree in related field required.
Experience: Ten years of progressive senior-executive leadership experience with extensive knowledge of current healthcare administration principles and practices. Extensive experience in clinical operations cost and resource management and customer service excellence. Prior experience within medium/large complex integrated delivery systems and/or academic medical center.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
