The RIZE Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) plays a pivotal role in developing and executing a comprehensive strategy that grows sustainable philanthropic support, aligns all external communication, and strengthens partnerships. In addition to overseeing fundraising efforts, the CAO manages all marketing communications initiatives to enhance brand visibility and promote the mission. This includes developing external campaigns and events supervising digital and social media presence, and ensuring our messaging resonates with diverse audiences.
The CAO cultivates, solicits, and stewards a diverse portfolio of stakeholders, including corporate partners, private foundations and individuals, corporate and government grants.. The CAO works closely with the President & CEO, Board of Directors, and other senior leaders in all development and external relations endeavors, and is responsible for growing engagement and revenue across each fundraising channel while creating new opportunities and partnerships.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising, relationship management, and marketing communications, and a deep commitment to RIZE's mission. This role requires an influential leader with a talent for cross-functional collaboration and relationship-building.
Job Summary
Development & Fundraising:• Cultivate, solicit, and secure six-figure+ gifts. Oversee major donor portfolios for the President/CEO and key volunteers.
• Partner with the board to drive philanthropic strategy, set donor goals, and inspire networks.
• Manage funder relationships, proposals, and budgets to ensure consistent grant revenue.
• Design cultivation activities and donor engagement events to deepen relationships and secure long-term support.
• Maintain and analyze Salesforce donor data to identify trends and measure success.
Marketing & Communications:
• Create and implement cohesive communication strategies across digital, print, and social platforms that align with organizational goals.
• Develop high-impact campaigns for initiatives like Giving Tuesday and year-end appeals to strengthen donor engagement.
• Lead efforts to elevate brand awareness, ensure alignment with mission, and maintain consistent messaging.
• Oversee planning and promotion of events to enhance visibility and drive contributions.
Leadership & Organizational Growth:
• Design integrated fundraising and marketing plans that support organizational goals and mission-driven visibility.
• Cultivate relationships with businesses, community leaders, and advocacy groups to expand RIZE’s impact and revenue streams.
• Evaluate development and marketing efforts; recommend adjustments based on data insights.
• Train and inspire staff and board members for effective volunteer engagement and increased philanthropic impact.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
• Proven success closing significant gifts from individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
• Experience developing integrated strategies for fundraising, communications, and marketing.
• Collaborative leader adept at partnering with executives, boards, and teams to achieve goals.
• Expertise in CRM tools (Salesforce preferred), digital campaigns, and data-informed decision-making.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
