Chief Commercial Officer, Investments Canada

We are seeking a senior leader to join our Wealth team as the Chief Commercial Officer for Investments Canada. This role will be based in either our Toronto or Montreal offices. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Chief Commercial Officer for Investments Canada (CCO) role will lead in developing and executing our Investment sales strategy for Canada aimed at delivering on our ambitious growth plans and achieving our annual budgeted revenue and NOI commitments. The CCO will work closely with the Head of Wealth Canada as well as global Wealth leaders to develop and implement the business strategy with a key objective being to grow profitable revenue and to achieve our vision of market leadership for the Wealth practice across Canada.  The CCO is expected to assess market demand and identify business opportunities, set the strategic direction, lead go-to-market efforts and sell across the continuum of investment services – from database and tools, investment consultancy and portfolio solutions.

We will count on you to: 

Develop and execute the Canadian Investments strategy in alignment with global goals, driving sustained profitable growth across various client segments including insurers, not-for-profits, and wealth managers.

Lead business development initiatives to position Mercer as the preferred investment solutions provider in Canada, ensuring effective go-to-market plans and client engagement strategies.

Manage the investment opportunity pipeline, ensuring best practices in client identification, solution design, and risk management.

Guide and develop the Canadian Wealth leadership and Investment Sales teams, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring strong talent pipelines.

What you need to have:

Proven track record of developing commercial and sales strategies that drive business growth and deliver strong financial results.

At least 15 years of experience in consulting, investment management, or a related field, with a deep understanding of institutional investors' needs.

A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field; CFA/MBA/Master’s degree preferred.

Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and engage teams.
