We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Chief Data Scientist (CDS) to join our leadership team. In this senior role, you will be responsible for shaping and overseeing our data science strategy, aligning it with business objectives, and driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with both internal teams and customers to articulate our data science services, ensuring they deliver measurable value.

This role requires a blend of deep expertise in data science, analytics, supply chain knowledge, and customer relationship management. You will lead the development of advanced machine learning models and data solutions that directly support organizational goals, while ensuring that data initiatives are impactful, scalable, and aligned with customer needs. What You’ll Do:
Thought Leadership, Roadmap & Research (45%)
Develop and communicate Blue Yonder's data science vision and strategyDrive innovation in AI and machine learning techniques for supply chain optimizationLead research initiatives in Generative AI, LLMs, and fine-tuning techniquesContribute to industry publications and represent Blue Yonder at conferencesCollaborate with product teams to integrate cutting-edge AI into our SaaS offeringsTeam Leadership, Guidance & Development (10%)
Mentor and develop a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learningAlign team goals with organizational objectives and industry best practicesEnsure ethical AI practices and privacy considerations are embedded in all projectsSales, Customer Retention, Stakeholder Engagement & Communication (20%)
Engage with key customers to understand their needs and showcase Blue Yonder's AI capabilitiesCollaborate with sales teams to support high-value opportunities and retain strategic accountsCommunicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders, including C-level executivesDevelop and deliver compelling presentations on Blue Yonder's AI-driven supply chain solutionsOversight of Data Science Projects (25%)
Provide technical leadership on critical data science projects, including GNN and Knowledge Graphs
Ensure successful implementation and scaling of AI/ML solutions within supply chain contextsEstablish best practices for data quality, model performance, and ethical AI useOversee the development and delivery of prototypes and proof-of-concepts for innovative AI applicationsWho You Are:
PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science or Artificial Intelligence)Proven experience in applying AI within the Supply Chain domainExpertise in integrating AI into SaaS products and offeringsHands-on experience in scaling Generative AI and AI/ML solutionsStrong skills in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Data AnalysisProficiency in SQL, R, and Python for statistical analysis and programmingExperience with training models, GNN, and Knowledge GraphsFamiliarity with LLMs and fine-tuning techniquesEffective communication and influencing skillsDemonstrated team leadership experienceStrong understanding of supply chain management principles and challengesTrack record of delivering impactful AI projects in enterprise environmentsCommitment to ethical AI practices and data privacySynonymous Job Title:

The salary range for this position is $186,626.00 to $284,687.00 US
The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
