Job Overview:
The Chief Echo Tech performs echocardiographic studies and assist Cardiologists with procedures, supervises quality and education initiatives, provides recommendations to Medical Director/Admin Director to enhance patient care and department advancement, and supports Leadership Team with Coordination of operational functions of the Echo Lab.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree required; Graduate of accredited Allied Health Cardiovascular Program required
ARDMS OR CCI Registered and a minimum of 7years Adult Echo experience required.
Extensive cardiac sonography education, training, and experience in Echocardiography with an emphasis on Structural Heart, stress echocardiography, and Clinical Research protocols
Extensive clinical experience in providing echocardiography services for Structural Heart, stress echocardiography, clinical research, cardiac amyloid, and other specialty programs.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and support staff sonographers in performing echocardiography studies on all patient populations with an emphasis on Structural Heart, stress echocardiography, clinical research, cardiac amyloid, and other specialty programs.
Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning (e.g. continuing medical education in the specialty area(s) performed, advanced sonography education and training, higher education, research, writing, speaking, etc.).
Advance Cardiac sonography credential is desired.
Essential Functions:
Perform advanced sonography services or other tasks consistent with education, training, and facility protocols, policies, and procedures.
Ensure strict compliance with scanning protocols for Structural Heart, stress echocardiography, clinical research cases and other cardiology specialty programs.
Function as a technical or clinical expert in sonography.
Ensuring sonography examination results meet the facility standard for quality assurance before findings are released for interpretation.
Responsible for the mentoring and professional development of staff.
Oversight for the staff continuing medical education program to ensure professional knowledge, expertise, and skills are maintained.
Accountable for the creation, oversight and implementation of scanning protocols and quality control activities.
Providing technical, image quality, and accuracy and oversight for the assessment of echocardiography examinations.
Develop and implementation of quality assurance protocols and quality improvement measures.
Coordinating sonography research projects.
Must be 60% scanning and 40% teaching,
