Chief Engineer
Position Overview International Motors is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Engineer, Product Sustaining to join our R&D Vehicle Platform Team. This leadership role is critical in ensuring our commercial vehicle platforms continue to meet the highest standards of quality, cost efficiency, and lifecycle performance. The Chief Engineer will oversee a team of Project Managers and guide cross-functional initiatives impacting all models and powertrains across the sustaining portfolio. Responsibilities + Provide strategic project leadership to deliver quality, cost, and timing (QCD) objectives across multiple sustaining programs. + Lead and mentor a high-performing team of Project Managers responsible for executing sustaining projects across all vehicle models and powertrain variants. + Drive portfolio-level prioritization of sustaining initiatives based on business goals, customer needs, and resource availability. + Develop and manage annual budgets for multiple sustaining programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. + Conduct monthly budget reviews, analyze variances, and implement necessary adjustments to maintain financial targets. + Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and product teams to deliver program objectives and resolve issues. + Champion continuous improvement and deliver data-driven recommendations that enhance vehicle performance, reduce cost, and elevate customer satisfaction. + Maintain a strategic perspective on sustaining needs, product evolution, and market trends. Minimum Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 6 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience + At least 3 years of lead experience OR + Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 5 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience + At least 3 years of lead experience OR + PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 4 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience + At least 3 years of lead experience Additional Requirements + Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
