The Chief Engineer executes equipment inspection and monitoring programs, and defines and implements maintenance best practices to improve overall mechanical equipment uptime. They continuously evaluate current maintenance, operations and reliability methods, and implement changes to enhance effectiveness at increasing value-maximizing performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide supervision and support to engineering team (including performance management, coaching, and development)Communicate regularly with property management team and attend scheduled meetings/calls. Assist project management team with achieving project objectives.Provide direction/information to vendors, contractors and service providers as required, ensuring excellent coordination/execution of work with minimal disruption.Implement and schedule preventative maintenance standards that are in compliance with JLL and Client guidelines.Manage and schedule major maintenance repairs and review for accuracy and quality of work performed by technicians and vendors.Evaluate vendors and suppliers on a regular basis with regard to quality and competitive pricing.Coordinate the scheduling, maintenance, and monitoring of HVAC, water, electric, and other systems to ensure efficient operation.Maintain a critical parts inventory and monitor it throughout the year.Assist with budget creation and management. Work with team members to identify and respond to any financial or budgeting related issues.Lead team in ensuring property is aligned with all operations compliance programs and processes as directed by regional and national leadership.Perform other duties and tasks assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
7+ years related work experience, including customer service, leadership and supervisory experience.CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
DC 3rd Class license required.This is an IUOE Local 99 union position. Membership is required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, water filtration, mechanical systems, and electrical systems engineering and operation.Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance processes.Understands aspects of construction planning and execution and can interpret blueprint drawings.Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and CMMS systems.Strong verbal/written communication skills.Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, and lift. Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall.Estimated total compensation for this position:
