As NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider, we work together with NASA at centers across the United States to achieve great things that inspire people all over the globe. This position is located in Houston, TX. In this role, you will be the expert supporting the GRAIL (Gateway Ready Avionics Integration Lab), a critical testing facility of the Gateway Program which will return to the Moon. You will bring your expertise in facility and emulator design fidelity, development and integration of high-fidelity avionic hardware and software, and support engineering flight project schedules, procurement documentation, budgets, and system requirements documents. **Your future duties and responsibilities:** -The Chief Engineer will be the expert supporting the GRAIL (Gateway Ready Avionics Integration Lab), a critical testing facility of the Gateway Program which will return to the Moon. -Chief expertise on facility and emulator design fidelity -Chief expertise on development and integration of high-fidelity avionic hardware and software integration of the lab -Support engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget and system requirements documents -Review integrated analysis of the GRAIL system, hardware and software in relation to other Gateway Systems and the operational environment -Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews -Review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall facility design and performance to inform decision making -Work with team members and leads to identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses with mitigation strategies -Work and present lab fidelity to customers and boards/panels -Perform other duties as required -Must have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment **Required qualifications to be successful in this role:** This position has been posted at multiple levels. Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and normally possess 5-10 years of related experience. License and certification may be required. -On location position - situational telework only -Past experience in development and integration of a high-fidelity integration lab -Understanding of electrical, mechanical and power systems -Able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision -Experience working in a team environment? The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $61,900.00 - $137,100.00.
