\n\nAs a Chief Engineer, you will oversee the hotel’s engineering operations, ensuring all facilities and systems function efficiently and safely. Your responsibilities will include managing maintenance schedules, leading the engineering team, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
\nThis role requires strategic leadership and technical expertise to drive operational excellence and enhance guest and team member experiences. You will collaborate with other departments to maintain a well-functioning, energy-efficient, and safe environment.

What will I be doing?
\nAs the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
\n• Operational Leadership:
\nOversee the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring all systems and equipment are well-maintained.
\nDevelop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of assets.
\n• Team Management & Development:
\nLead, mentor, and manage the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
\nProvide training and development opportunities to enhance the team’s technical skills and knowledge.
\n• Facility Maintenance:
\nEnsure the hotel’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems operate efficiently and meet safety standards.
\nConduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and address issues promptly.
\n• Compliance & Safety:
\nEnsure all maintenance activities comply with local safety regulations, building codes, and hotel policies.
\nImplement and monitor safety protocols to protect guests, team member, and assets.
\n• Budgeting & Cost Control:
\nManage the engineering department’s budget, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
\nOversee procurement of parts, tools, and services, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency.
\n• Energy Management:
\nMonitor and optimize energy consumption to enhance sustainability and reduce operational costs.
\nImplement energy-saving initiatives and support the hotel’s environmental goals.
\n• Collaboration & Communication:
\nWork closely with other departments to address maintenance needs and coordinate special projects.
\nCommunicate effectively with senior management, providing regular updates on engineering operations.
\n• Emergency Response:
\nDevelop and implement emergency protocols for engineering-related incidents.
\nLead the team in responding to emergencies promptly and effectively.
What are we looking for?
\nA Chief Engineer serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
\n• Certification or Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field; professional certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience in engineering or maintenance management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Pre-opening experience is an added advantage.
• Possess knowledge of the requirements of government regulations and technical rules.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and energy management practices.
