A Brief Overview The Chief Executive Officer provides visionary, compassionate, and human centered leadership ensuring Peckham's continued excellence in vocational rehabilitation. This position is essential in shaping the strategic direction to develop, innovate, and execute Peckham's mission. The CEO plays a crucial role in the development of an inclusive workforce where employees feel empowered, valued, and have a deep sense of belonging. The role will collaborate with key partners including the Board of Directors, government officials, internal and external stakeholders and community partners to drive clear long- and short-term goals and develop sustainable programs contributing to organizational excellence. The CEO will lead efforts to identify and advocate for opportunities that empower individuals with disabilities and those facing barriers to employment, enabling them to thrive and reach their fullest potential. What you will do + Develop and ensure all programs and initiatives align with Peckham’s mission, vision, and core values driving operational and mission success. + Lead the development and execution of the organization’s strategic plan in partnership with the Board of Directors. + Provide strategic oversight of Peckham's operational and financial performance, including comprehensive budgeting, resource allocation, and financial stewardship, to ensure the organization achieves its goals and objectives while maintaining fiscal sustainability and driving long-term growth + Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors to set organizational goals, review performance, and ensure accountability. Foster open communication to promote transparency and build trust within the organization and among stakeholders. + Provide oversight and leadership to Peckham’s social enterprises and service programs to operate effectively, ethically, reliably, and provide world class service to all customers. + Serve as an advocate for people with disabilities and other marginalized groups, ensuring they have access to meaningful employment and personal growth opportunities. + Manage daily operations ensuring that Peckham is meeting key objectives and goals while maintaining an engaged workforce. + Effectively assesses risks and navigate ambiguity to make high quality, timely decisions that balance regard for available data, relevant experience and reasoned intuition. + Lead the organization with a clear vision that inspires pride, purpose, and excellence among staff participants and stakeholders. + Foster a workplace environment rooted in dignity and respect that engenders trust, encourages talent development, elicits empowered action and supports both clear direction and providing clear empathetic feedback. + Demonstrate credibility, approachability and social awareness necessary to pursue organizational goals while building sustainable and authentic relationships. + Lead with empathy and care prioritizing the well-being of employees and stakeholders in decision making and day to day operations. + Lead with a strong understanding of how to balance operational demands with the personal and developmental needs of employees, ensuring both organizational efficiency and individual well-being. + Create, sustain, and lead an environment where every individual feels a sense of belonging, purpose, and connection to mission. + Develop and lead efforts to establish a psychologically safe workplace where employees feel supported to thrive and grow. + Champion innovation and identify opportunities to advance Peckham’s mission, empowering individuals and strengthening organizational success. + Assess organizational capabilities and identify high value opportunities to advance our mission that enable the organization’s long-term operational and financial health. + Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to Peckham’s mission and values, taking pride in the organization’s impact and its employee’s achievements. + Innovate business models that support vocational rehabilitation services while maintaining a workplace culture that instills pride in each participant's progress and achievements. + Engage with local and broader communities to raise awareness of Peckham’s mission and vocational rehabilitation efforts. What you will need + Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or other related field + Ten (10) or more years of experience leading a large multifaceted organization and/or social enterprise with an annual budget of at least $50,000,000. + Eight (8) or more years of demonstrated management experience within a diverse environment. + Direct experience developing a culture and implementing a strategic and mission focused vision in a complex organization. + Significant financial responsibility experience in a consumer-focused organization including proven ability to manage complex budgets, ensure fiscal responsibility, and drive financial growth in alignment with organizational mission and values. + Progressive experience working in disability or a similar sector, with an understanding of the needs of individuals within the sector and knowledge of funding sources that support the sector. + Substantial experience with outreach to communities and government officials. + Experience with federal contracting. + Experience working with an organization with AbilityOne/government contracts employing individuals with disabilities. + Proven track record in managing, developing, or enhancing business operations in the non-profit sector. + Ability to pass/obtain and maintain government security clearance. The general nature of this position operates in a professional office environment. The environment has standard office lighting, temperature, and noise levels. The role involves prolonged periods working on a computer and engaging in virtual or in-person meetings. Additionally, it also requires the ability to sit for extended periods, use standard office equipment, and perform repetitive tasks such as typing and data entry. The role may involve light lifting (up to 20 pounds) and occasional standing or walking.
