Job Overview

The CFO will lead a collection of teams which have the same or related purpose to deliver financial, regulatory and management reporting and control. This includes Local Finance, Premises, Facilities Management (PFM), Procurement and Security, Health and Safe Environment (SHSE).

You will partner with senior leaders in the development and rollout of the organization's vision and strategy to improve and safeguard financial results, creating and executing long-term strategies leveraging data and analytics as a key business enabler and competitive differentiator across the business.

You will develop, refine, and implement insights, recommendations, processes, controls, reports, and tools to ensure that finance delivers to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and improve relationships with Board members, global Finance teams in the ING Head Office, Hub locations and other relevant ING entities in identifying priorities, issues and strategic challenges and preparing them for discussion. Work is focused on the safeguard of the financial health of the entity, its long-term viability and alignment to the Bank’s overall business strategy.Take responsibility for developing and delivering the organization's financial management and control systems. Develop and gain agreement to annual business plans for a function or substantial business area, ensuring alignment with strategy; quantify business outcomes (i.e., revenues or other key performance indicators); detail expense and headcount budgets; and develop business cases for key projects, ensuring cross-functional integration.Establish business-critical strategies to create, present, and communicate high-impact data and analytics insights and recommendations to critical internal and external stakeholders.Define the detailed organization structure for a business area to align with corporate principles, define the relationship between elements of the organization, and define the responsibilities of senior managers, to enable the organization to achieve its business objectives.Effectively collaborate with global stakeholders in building talent capabilities across different domains in Finance to provide ING future-proof skills fit for business.  Motivate and inspire employees, create the required environment and enable employees to do their jobs well, both now and in the future.Manage and report on the performance of the function / business area; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.Identify and manage stakeholders up to top management level, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions.Ensure compliance with all relevant ING policies and Minimum Standards

Key Capabilities/Experience

Senior manager with a proven track record of more than 15 years in creating and executing business strategies.Deep knowledge of Finance, compliance to regulatory requirements for financial institutions, financial analysis, and in driving organizational change and transformation initiatives.Ability to influence senior global leaders to be able to drive programs that reinforce sound financial strategy for the location and/or across multiple locations/entities.Ability to lead and support expertise roles ensuring financial targets including controls are met and business continuity is in place.Ability to display flexibility to teams and adapt plan, approach and behavior to the different needs, cultures and situations.Strong experience in developing high performing teams and people development (i.e., coaching and career conversations).
