Our client is a long-standing private firm specializing in commercial and residential real estate. They are looking for a full-time Chief Financial Officer to join their team based on-site in Kingston, Ontario.

In this role, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will work under the owner of a private firm with a diverse investment portfolio, consisting of a wide range of real estate property types, construction, and equity/stock investments. The CFO will be responsible for all company fiscal and regulatory matters, understanding complex financials and a balance sheet.

Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:

Assisting with high-level accounting decisions about policy and strategy. Overseeing the organization’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing. Assuring legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitoring compliance with laws and regulations. Supervising financial reporting and budgeting team. Reviewing financial reports for ways of reducing costs.

Qualifications:

CPA Certification. Experience in a senior management position within finance, including people leadership experience. Strong financial and accounting background, including an understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting. Experience with multiple P&L balance sheets. Experience with budget management, public accounting, and cash flow. Ability to inspire confidence and create trust. Ability to plan personal workload effectively and delegate. Willingness and ability to work with the financial program Multiview.

This is an in-office position based in Kingston, Ontario.
