Our client is an exciting wealth and asset manager that invests across various strategies. Over the next five-six years, they are aiming to double their AUM and get closer to the ten-billion mark. They are hoping to achieve that milestone by opening new markets, expanding their product offerings for existing client base, and entering into JV agreements in other markets for faster distribution. As part of this aspiration, they need to institutionalise their risk, compliance, and finance functions. The CFO hire, based in Singapore, will lead the strategy and transformation of the global finance function.

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our client. As a vital member of our executive leadership team, you will oversee all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring strategic financial planning, analysis, and reporting to support their business objectives. Besides, you will need to liaise with regulators, investors, and suppliers / vendors.

Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives, driving profitability and growth.Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, providing accurate financial projections and analysis to support decision-making.Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate risk exposure and safeguard company assets.Cash Management: Manage cash flow, liquidity, and investment strategies to optimize returns while maintaining appropriate levels of liquidity.Change Management: Drive higher efficiency in the finance function by implementing new tools and processes.Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, providing insights and recommendations to improve efficiency, profitability, and overall performance.Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive business growth and enhance financial performance.Tax Planning and Compliance: Oversee tax planning strategies, working closely with tax advisors to optimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes.Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team (8-12 headcounts), fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.The Successful ApplicantMaster's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.Proven experience, ten or more years, in a financial leadership role within the wealth management or broader financial services industry.Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products, and regulatory requirements.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of effectively leading and developing high-performing teams.Strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically and drive results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Ideally, experience of starting or transforming a finance function from the ground up.
