Responsibilities What to Expect Serves as Chief Information Officer (CIO) by providing overall management and oversight of IT services and operations in support of Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Camp Lejeune- New River and Albany field enterprise solutions to include, but not limited to: overseeing all specialized programs and development projects and their subsequent organizational uses; providing hardware, software, and security (including cybersecurity requirements to ensure compliance with all applicable Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DON) and Marine Corps security regulations) support for all point of sale (POS) systems, retail, food & hospitality, recreation, accounting, and personnel management systems; state-of-the-art computer systems; wireless networks; local and wide area networks. Conducts audits of IT systems and ensures application of information security and assurance policies. Provides leadership in the selection, design, implementation, integration, and ongoing support of information systems throughout the organization. Provide regular status reports to Headquarters, the MCCS Assistant Chief of Staff, the Chief Financial Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff - MCIEAST, MCCS Division Directors and other MCCS operational components regarding policies and projects. Directs the development of and monitors the use of organizational wide IT standards, policies and service agreements. Coordinates necessary contracting requirements for technology procurement to include: hardware, software, training, communications, maintenance, software customization, and consulting services as necessary. Oversees preparation and approves IT financial plans and related records and reports, and exercises authority on approved overall budget. Directly supervises employee's plans, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required. Performs other related duties as assigned. This position is designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (nature or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications What are we looking for? Five years specialized experience that demonstrates the ability to manage a medium to large scale IT operation encompassing point of sale (POS), retail, merchandising, food & hospitality, recreation, accounting, and personnel management systems, with one-year supervisory experience; and demonstrated skill to plan and manage technology change and currency in hardware and software systems. Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, technology management, or a degree that included a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development and adaptation of applications, systems and networks, is required. Experience concerning design, selection, implementation, integration, and ongoing support of organizational information systems, and security of IT resources. Skill to assess, develop, and implement policy that governs organizational IT functions. Knowledge and experience with multiple operating systems including Oracle Fusion, and Microsoft, computer off the shelf (COTS) software packages, database management systems, telecommunications, security (including cybersecurity), analysis and design methodologies. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. This is a non-critical sensitive position, must be able to satisfactorily complete and maintain a Tier 3 level background investigation (Secret Clearance). Note: As an authorized and privileged user of Department of Defense Information Systems must possess or receive Information Assurance awareness by completing the Security+ Certification as a condition of access within six months of employment and thereafter must complete annual Information Assurance awareness training.
