This position reports to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer “CEO”.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
+ Legal Strategy and Counsel: Trusted counselor to the CEO and Board of Directors with significant experience handling a combination of business law and public company governance, corporate and securities law, litigation, regulatory, corporate development, complex transactions (including M&A, joint ventures, and other possible investments), public policy, data privacy and digital, anti-trust law, intellectual property, brand protection, and ethics and compliance.
+ Enterprise and Team Leadership: Key member of executive leadership team expected to play a significant role in developing and executing our business strategy and fostering our unique culture that we describe as the WK Way. Build and lead a high-performing legal team. Mentor and develop staff and foster our purpose-driven culture within the team. Serve as a trusted ambassador for a multinational organization.
+ Provide Counsel: Demonstrated ability to provide counsel and guidance on matters ranging from complex legal questions or inquires to routine day-to-day legal matters. Develops functional plans for managing legal matters, to best manage the company’s legal activities and minimize risk for the business.
+ Business and Brand/Marketing Strategy Support: Advise on targeting, segmentation, and general marketing strategies and initiatives, including but not limited to developing policies and guidelines for such work.
+ Litigation and Enterprise Risk Oversight: Manage litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution processes. Anticipate and address risks related to intellectual property, employment law, and data privacy.
+ Contract and Compliance Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including vendor, employment, and partnership agreements. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Develop corporate governance policies and oversee compliance programs.
+ Collaborate throughout WK Kellogg Co: You’ll collaborate across all areas of WK Kellogg, partnering closely with the members of the Leadership Team and our Leadership Community while also interacting on an ongoing basis with the Board of Directors.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
+ Approximately 15+ years of legal experience and the interpersonal skills to function successfully in a highly visible, business-facing position
+ Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and an active member in good standing with the Michigan Bar or other state bar
+ Expertise in corporate law, employment law, intellectual property, or data privacy
+ Strong negotiation, leadership, communication skills, and outstanding business judgment
+ Proven success managing complex legal matters in a fast-paced environment
+ Must possess a strong financial acumen and a track record as an effective and engaging leader who can build, develop and motivate a business-focused and diverse team
+ Culture fit is critical
+ Ability to be able to act as a public face of an organization, representing the company’s dedication to having the highest standards for ethical conduct, product safety, and customer care
