Overview This role heads the marketing function of PepsiCo beverage franchise business in the Philippines. The role directly reports to the General Manager for PepsiCo PHILMAPS (Philippines, Malaysia & Singapore) and is a core member of the PepsiCo PHILMAPS leadership team. This role provides the incumbent a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on PepsiCo’s beverage franchise business in the Philippines. The ideal candidate for this position will be an established FMCG marketing director, results driven, highly motivated, proven thought leader with excellent managerial skills and stamina, who also has the ability and potential to advance into senior leadership positions within PepsiCo. The role will lead the marketing agenda by developing winning brand strategies and activations while working closely with the General Manager, franchise teams, regional/global marketing teams, and the bottling partners. Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership • Lead the development strategic plan for Philippines Beverages franchise business: • Create a Marketing Strategic Plan based on consumer/market-place insights, right to succeed, field feedback and economics in alignment with General Manager, franchise teams and bottling partners • Core Brand equity, profile/target and extension strategy • Advertising/communication strategy • Consumer interaction strategy (grass-roots, promotion, sponsorship, presence) o Packaging and pricing strategy o A&M strategy: level of support and Push/Pull balance o New Product and Format Developments o In-market success and new market/channel expansion (collaborate with Sales/Commercial) 2. Development and Delivery of Annual Operating Plan • Develop the marketing AOP for PH Beverages & support timely deployment of AOP calendar • Develop integrated Marketing & Communication strategy • Manage advertising development in alignment with Global/Regional platforms and guide key local market projects (including creating new work or lift & adapt global copies) • Support local Marketing managers to develop & deploy Promotional Calendars 3. New Product & Packaging Platform Development • Lead development of New Product & Packaging platforms with Regional R&D and lead multi-functional teams: • Work closely with Category Team, R&D, SRA & local Marketing teams on any new product developments or launches ensuring on time, quality and products that meet local markets needs/compliance • Coordinate development of R&D product strategy and pipeline of global product/packaging innovation • Ensure that innovation ideas comply with Brand strategy and facilitate global transfer of learnings 4. Capability Building • Build Marketing organization capability on through hands-on work, coaching and mentorship, and formal classroom trainings • Leverage PepsiCo’s best practices, and work creatively and efficiently within PepsiCo’s matrix organization to see how best to recreate for Philippines, if there is local relevance and opportunity • Nurture an environment of learning and development 5. Budget and Promo Management • Manage the A&M and D&A budgets for the market and will need to drive optimal spending as well as close tracking/monitoring of all to-date spends. • Plan and deliver marketing and sales promotional activities for the market across all channels with support from appointed agencies and bottler team. 6. Controls and Stewardship • Lead the Global Control Standards (GCS) agenda in accordance with PepsiCo Accountability model by building GCS capability, ensuring robust risk assessment, quarterly GCS testing by Control Owners. • Assess key control effectiveness and ensure gaps, as identified in quarterly testing and corporate audit, are remediated on a timely basis. Maintain process documentation that is complete and accurate and main a strong control environment in Marketing function. Qualifications • 12+ years of experience in Brand Strategy, managing a portfolio of brands & leading brand managers • Understanding of Brand P&L, Promotion strategy and GTM Models • Strong consumer & creative marketing background with strategic thinking and insight orientation • Creative appreciation Advertising development awareness / promotional and event experience • Proven track record in launching new products into emerging markets that have been successful/sustained over time • Experience with leading teams and working in matrix organizations • Ability to effectively work in a multi-gender, multi-national work team; whilst displaying particular sensitivity towards cultural and ethnic differences Differentiating Competencies • Strong Leader and able to inspire team.
