Summary :The Chief Medical Information Officer is responsible for overseeing implementation, usage, continual optimization and support of Health Information technology (HIT) for ThedaCare. Provides clinical leadership and expertise for all issues related to the clinical information systems. Provides clinical leadership in the development and implementation of support for clinicians and clinical analysts to develop workflows and a health record which improves quality, access, cost, and experience of clinicians and patients. Develops and supports necessary relationships and models to facilitate changes related to adoption of HIT. Works with ThedaCare leaders and clinical leadership to coordinate use of clinical information technology to provide efficient and effective electronic health record to achieve ThedaCare’s lifeinspired goal ensuring patients lead their unique best life.

Job Description:

Key Accountabilities

Engages both independent and employed physicians and other clinicians to contribute to and align the development and use of  EPICLeads the ThedaCare Medical Informatics team and works with ThedaCare information Systems and EPIC team to lead the operation and future design of the EHR and related initiatives.Leads and support the ThedaCare EHR steering committee and governanceParticipates in ongoing development and leadership of EPIC initiatives in both ambulatory and inpatient settings within ThedaCare Ensures EPIC functionality and processes support ThedaCare System mission, vision, and values.Strategically plan, organize, coordinate and communicate ThedaCare’s current and future efforts to support an electronic health record and clinical interface.Engage with senior leaders in the development and implementation of information technology strategy to support the capture of all data necessary (including clinical and SDOH) to support patient care to ensure the communities ThedaCare serves live their unique best life.Ensure ThedaCare is aligned with national efforts and trends in clinical information technology and compliant with all regulatory , accrediting and licensing agenciesChair and lead system level clinical information technology committees focused on the needs for clinical care delivery.Ensure EPIC supports evidence-based practices.  Provide effective leadership for the EPIC team that supports comprehensive clinical guidelines, order sets, formulary and workflows.Coordinate clinical content and workflows with a primary focus on quality and patient safety Work collaboratively with physicians and regional leadership.Ensure a culture supportive of EPIC.  Be a visible and accessible leader within ThedaCare Serve as a trusted change agent to improve process and systems Ensure communication and educational materials are developed as necessary
