The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is currently seeking a full time Chief MRI Technologist to work in Deerfield Beach. The Chief MRI Technologist maintains responsibility for the day-to-day operations and administrative duties ensuring efficient workflow of the section; compliance with budgetary policy; ensuring the highest quality diagnostic examinations; and compliance of State/Federal/Joint Commission regulations, department/hospital policies and procedures, objectives and philosophy.
The Chief MRI Technologist is accountable for the efficient patient throughout and 24-hr supervisory responsibility of department and of all departmental staff member’s scheduling, technical guidance and performance improvement. The Chief MRI Technologist performs diagnostic/job functions as required of a MRI Technologist at a level that will require no supervision of technical details.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Oversees imaging services, including performance or supervision of tests, and daily management of assigned personnel.
Assists in compilation of statistical data for departmental evaluation purposes.
Contributions to the preparation of the annual departmental budget and development of administrative and operational policies, procedures, and regulations.
Responsible for hire, discipline, and promotion of department staff.
Obtains and examines the diagnostic orders for appropriateness to the type of exam ordered and any special notes or comments.
Manages scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures.
Collaborates in the development of in-service training for departmental staff.
Completes yearly performance appraisals for the staff and handles requests for merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology /Diagnostic Imaging Program
Must possess a valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer
ARRT registered with ARRT certification in primary modality
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
