Position Summary The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is responsible for strategic leadership and administration of all nursing services.# This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, promotes best practices in patient care, and fosters a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration among nursing staff. Administrative responsibility for planning and directing the operations of the assigned patient service departments as well as ancillary departments in accordance with the philosophy of the medical center.# Responsible for patient outcomes attributable to nursing practice.# This position functions in a senior leadership role for the Medical Center Administration including participating in the Medical Center#s mission, strategic plans, budgets, resource allocations, operations plan, performance improvement monitoring, technology and management information system integration.# Emphasis on management, organizational leadership and administrative responsibilities.# Work hours are variable, and conditions may be tranquil to overwhelming. Assumes administrative responsibility in the absence of the administrator. Essential duties # responsibilities include: Strategic Leadership and Management Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures and best practices. Align nursing strategies with the overall mission and goals of Granville Health System. Collaborate with executive leadership to drive operational efficiency and quality improvement Ensure compliance with federal, state and local healthcare regulations (i.e. The Joint Commission, CMS) Patient Care and Quality Improvement Oversee the delivery of high-quality patient-centered care. Implement and monitor performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes Foster a culture of evidence-based practice and continuous learning. Staff Development and Engagement Lead and mentor nursing leaders and staff, promoting professional growth and retention. Develop workforce planning strategies, including recruitment and training. Financial and Resource Management Manage nursing budgets and ensure cost-effective resource allocation. Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost savings. Advocate for nursing resources and technology improvements. Qualifications Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.# BSN required. Master#s in Nursing Administration or comparable area preferred.# Broad clinical background with a minimum of five (5) years management or administrative experience. Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills. Expertise in healthcare regulations, compliance and accreditation standards. Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration across departments. Extended work hours and on-call requirements
