The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) will have oversight of North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama. The CNO has ultimate administrative responsibility for nursing standards and practices regardless of the practice area or reporting relationship of the nurse. The CNO directs hospital nursing activities within context of hospital policies and procedures:
North Alabama Medical Center serves as a regional facility with more than 200 physicians on staff who represent more than 42 specialty areas of medicine. The 263 bed facility offers the community’s only open heart surgery site, a complete line of women’s and children’s services and a complete line of medical and imaging services.
North Alabama Medical Center is a Certified Chest Pain center with a team of cardiologists available 24/7 and is recognized as a Primary Stroke Center of Excellence by the American Heart/American Stroke Association. North Alabama Medical Center’s 24-hour emergency department serves as the primary referral center for major trauma cases in Northwest Alabama.
Licensed Registered Nurse with knowledge of nursing principles, theories and practice standards with verbal interpersonal and quantitative skills acquired through completion of at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Master’s Degree Required (MSN or MHA).
Minimum of 3-5 years of CNO experience in an investor-owned healthcare organization.
Prior experience in Joint Commission preparation and survey process.
