to grow and mature.
This Opportunity:
The Chief of Party will
lead a team of supply chain management professionals to improve Uganda’s health
system by strengthening its health supply chain management system leadership, management, systems, processes, and human
resources. The Chief of
Party will have experience developing and implementing organization-wide
strategies and overseeing a complex portfolio, with strong interpersonal skills
to develop and manage complex relationships across numerous internal and external
stakeholders, including USAID, the Ministry of Health, and other development
partners. The Chief of Party must identify implementation-related issues and
risks in a timely manner and suggest appropriate adjustments. Lastly, the Chief
of Party will be a local national and have experience leading projects
in Uganda and other African countries with international donors.

USAID. *
Location:
The position is based in Kampala, Uganda.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Chief of Party is responsible for overall leadership, strategic direction, and technical management, including management of project-related staff.
Oversee project implementation, project activities, and staff.
Manage project team and consortium members
Lead project work planning, performance management, and strategic communication
Oversee the implementation of strategic plans and workstreams
Manage the partnership with USAID’s Mission in Uganda
Support stakeholders and oversee technical assistance, project activities, and staff
Serve as principal liaison with USAID staff, other implementing partners, host country government actors and other private and public sector stakeholders to exchange information and develop professional relationships
Determine program implementation-related risks and issues and provide effective solutions
Safeguard compliance with USAID, GOU and USG laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
Key
Competencies Required:
Proven record of leadership in design, management, and experience leading supply chain and technical assistance projects
Proven managerial experience overseeing various workstreams, key personnel, performance management, and communications
Demonstrated managerial experience overseeing a complex portfolio, which includes activities pertaining to elaborate supply chain management or related technical assistance projects in Africa.
Demonstrated experience successfully implementing international development activities, preferably related to health supply chain management issues under a USG contract instrument.
Previous experience working on USAID projects in multiple countries, ideally in Africa. Previous experience working in Uganda is a plus.
Prior COP experience is preferred
Demonstrated ability to develop robust working relationships with host country government officials at all relevant levels, international organizations, as well as other donors
Strong interpersonal skills such as leadership, being a team player, dependability, ability to manage for results.
Professional
Expertise/Competencies Preferred:
Deep understanding of global supply chain management in the Ugandan and/or African context
Demonstrated experience in supply chain management best practices.
Proven managerial experience creating and managing supply chain programs and leading projects spanning a variety of intervention types and health areas.
