Position Summary:

The Chief of Staff will serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the D&E Business Leader, providing critical support across all aspects of the business's operations. This role will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, enhancing team effectiveness, and ensuring the successful execution of key initiatives. The role will focus on making time, information and decision processes more effective. Among all, this role will serve as a trusted sounding board.

Note: While this position will be remote within the Unites States, the selected candidate will be required to travel to Washington, DC on a quarterly basis.

Responsibilities:

Strategy and Go to Market:

Work with practice leaders to develop and maintain strategic plans and road maps, aligning with overall company and business objectives.

Project manages our GTM efforts while serving as a partner between marketing and the business.

Coordinate with Marketing, Business Development and practitioners to implement strategic go-to-market initiatives and track progress to plan.

Conduct in-depth research and analysis on industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities.

Support client retention and expansion efforts including pipeline reporting, client satisfaction and key account planning.

Assist in creating and presenting top-quality client presentations and proposals.

Operational Excellence:

Provide analysis, recommendations, and options to the business leader regarding high impact decisions as needed.

Operate with the utmost confidentiality and discretion.

Serve as an extension of the business leader supporting meetings, offering different perspectives, and following up on action items accordingly.

Oversee and streamline key operational processes within D&E and across the company, identifying and addressing operational, such as resource allocation, delegations of authority, and client onboarding/contracting. 

Identify and address operational bottlenecks and challenges.

Develop and implement tools to improve efficiency and productivity.

Serve as the primary interface between D&E leadership, Legal, Marketing, People Office and Business Operation partners.

Team Leadership & Development:

Foster a high-performing and collaborative team culture.

Assist onboarding new team members with a particular focus on SMD new hires.

Plan and orchestrate team meetings and events.

Lead and manage special projects assigned by the Business Leader, such as new business initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, or organizational restructuring.

Conduct in-depth research and analysis on specific topics as needed.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required; business administration or management degree preferred.

Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced and matrixed environment or professional services environment, ideally within a consulting firm.

Experience as Chief of Staff or in a similar high-impact role is preferred.

Experience in organizing and providing direction to multiple teams.

Ability to plan and lead strategic initiatives.

Experience in preparing presentations.

Adept in data analysis, research, and budget management.

Proven success in a project coordination or management role.

Nimble business mind, focused on developing creative solutions and intellectual curiosity.

Strong work ethic, high level of integrity, and a passion for excellence.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Analytics tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, SQL, Python) are preferred.
