Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic Business Executive to support the EVP of the Financials & ERP Division. This high-profile role involves acting as the primary liaison between the EVP, his peers, and division leaders. You’ll collaborate with senior leaders across the business, ensuring everything is aligned with Sage’s goals.
This is a highly visible role whereby you will be introduced to the business in its entirety, from strategy and decision-making at the highest levels of the organization and fostering close working relationships with senior management across Sages global business. You will work across functional boundaries and build strong relationships with technology teams, business units and senior leaders across the wider Sage business.
This is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with the Sage leadership team, gaining direct exposure to the business in its entirety, to strategy and decision-making at the highest levels, serving as a development opportunity, providing a springboard after 18-24 months to pivot in a broader role within Sage.
This role requires strong organisational, communication, and problem solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once. This an ideal role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys tackling challenges, and is motivated by delivering results!
Key Responsibilities:
• Understand and align with the strategies, priorities, and goals of the EVP, the Division, and Sage. Represent the EVP in meetings to ensure business continuity, identify potential issues, celebrate successes, provide resolutions, and keep the EVP informed.
• Report Production: Generate a wide range of reports, including board reports and operational dashboards. Drive strategic projects autonomously.
• Executive Interaction: Lead and drive decisions with executives, ensuring cross-functional leadership and collaboration. Synthesize information and present comprehensive insights.
• Meeting Management: Attend relevant meetings with the EVP, record outcomes, clarify accountabilities, and ensure timely delivery of next steps.
• Project Leadership: Lead assigned projects with minimal guidance, ranging from strategic partnerships to cross-functional and business unit initiatives.
• Operational Oversight: Ensure divisional projects and product delivery stay on track through operational reviews with the EVP's direct reports. Resolve blockers and escalate issues as necessary.
• Documentation: Gather necessary information to prepare materials for board meetings, executive team meetings, and senior leadership conferences.
• Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve issues or blockers by gathering data, determining root causes, and providing recommendations.
• Collaboration: Partner with product, finance and operational leaders in the division and cross-functionally to produce high-quality materials, find buisness opportunities and knock down barriers.
• Time Management: Work with the EVP’s executive assistant to prioritize meeting requests, ensure effective agendas, prepare the EVP for meetings, and maintain outcome-focused discussions.
Qualifications:
• Experience: Product Marketing or Product Management experience with a focus on accounting or financial software for midmarket or enterprise-level businesses.
• Business Acumen: Strong business acumen with the ability to make pragmatic decisions, provide recommendations, and solve problems. Past P&L or roadmap ownership is preferable.
• Decision-Making: Ability to quickly assimilate information, evaluate situations, and make decisions.
• Action Orientation: Independent thinker with excellent organizational skills and a strong action orientation.
• Communication: Excellent engagement and communication skills with senior leaders.
• Attention to Detail: Impeccable writing skills and attention to detail, coupled with strategic thinking.
Other Requirements:
• Mobility: Willingness to travel regularly across the US, with some international travel.
• Education: Degree educated (or equivalent).
