The Chief Operating Officer (COO) serves as a key Senior Officer with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the assigned departments and overall facility in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital. The COO position reports directly to the CEO and works collaboratively with the other Senior Officers to ensure efficiency and excellence in operational results. The COO participates in short- and long-term strategic planning for the hospital and actively promotes the mission of the organization by assuring the achievement of overall quality, service, and performance improvement outcomes. The COO supports achievement of balanced goals for the hospital and assures that the strategies and tactics are aligned with the goals and priorities of the system as a whole. The position is responsible for assuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards of accreditation and for achieving the quality and cost objectives that drive value to our patients and communities. The COO must be able to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships with peers, managers, employee team members, medical staff, community members along with patients and their families. This position is known in the community as a top leader of the organization.
