Job Description:
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida seeks an accomplished and visionary leader to serve as Division Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a globally recognized program at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, Florida’s premier children’s inpatient health center, renowned for delivering innovative and comprehensive care for pediatric oncology and hematology patients.
Our program’s strengths include:
+ Internationally Recognized Immunotherapy Program: Known worldwide, our pediatric cancer immunotherapy program focuses on developing novel treatments for the deadliest forms of childhood cancer, including glioblastoma multiforme, diffuse pontine glioma, relapsed osteosarcoma, relapsed Ewing’s sarcoma, and other solid tumors. With over $20 million in grant funding, our team is positioned to push forward innovative therapies that address these challenging conditions.
+ Dynamic and broad ranging translational research program. Supported by our federally recognized Cancer Center and part by a multimillion multiyear commitment from Stop Children's Cancer, our team participates in the Children's Oncology Group and numerous consortia including Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium, Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium, Beat Children's Cancer Consortium, the North American Pediatric Aplastic Anemia Consortium and National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
+ World-Class Solid Tumor and AYA Program: With extensive collaborations across pediatrics, surgery, orthopedics, and basic sciences, we offer an integrated approach to solid tumor care, meeting the unique needs of adolescents and young adults (AYA) with cancer.
+ State-of-the-Art Hematology Program: Our hematology program includes advanced therapies such as gene therapy for sickle cell disease and hemophilia, positioning us at the forefront of hematologic care and innovation.
+ Dynamic Cellular Therapy Program: Our team leads a cutting-edge cellular therapy program, developing and providing access to pioneering therapies for children with challenging hematologic and oncologic conditions.
+ Children’s Oncology Group Statistical Center: As home to one of only two statistical centers within the Children’s Oncology Group, we play a vital role in shaping national and international research and clinical outcomes in pediatric oncology.
+ Deep Resources: The Division has garnered over $5 M in philanthropic support that includes two endowed chairs, an endowed lectureship, and an educational endowment.

UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital is a major destination center for pediatric patients, both nationally and internationally, who require specialized attention for complex medical problems.
UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital represents the only quaternary-care academic pediatric center in North Florida. The children’s hospital has 208 beds, including fully-equipped pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital is part of the Children's Miracle Network's alliance of premier hospitals for children.
The Department of Pediatrics is committed to fostering innovation and advancing discovery in the biomedical and psychosocial aspects of child health and human development, educating and training pediatric scientists, and directly translating basic scientific discoveries into new patient-oriented therapies. In the most recent fiscal year, the department was home to over $30.5M in sponsored research.
UF Health faculty work in multidisciplinary teams with researchers in the five other Health Science Center colleges, as well as those from across the University. The focus of team efforts is often grown out of the Centers and Institutes, including the Evelyn F. and William L. McKnight Brain Institute, the UF Genetics Institute, the Powell Gene Therapy Center, and the UF Health Cancer Center.

Minimum Requirements:
