Role and responsibilitiesThe Chief Product Owner (CPO) of the BCPMS ART is responsible for the overall vision, roadmap and program backlog of the already running Business Capabilities and Portfolio Management Services Agile Release Train within the ASML IT department. This ART is responsible for digitally enabling the whole of ASML for classical, agile and specialized (ADM – ASML Development Model & BPI- Business Performance Improvement ways of working) portfolio management and capability planning.
The ART currently has 4 teams and owns BizzDesign, Jira IT, Jira Align, Confluence Cloud, Enterprise wiki, Project online and some home-grown tooling like the Demand PowerApp and Portfolio Delivery Plan PowerApp tools. The ART is predominantly in IT, but almost all the POs are from the business like BPI or CS. CPO is part of the leading coalition of the ART, but resides in the Change Management team of BPI. On top of the typical CPO responsibilities, this role is also responsible to help BPI digitize their processes by working directly with BPI teams and BPI competence networks.
In your role as CPO you will be responsible for:
Vision and Roadmap: Define a compelling vision and translate it into a product roadmap that inspires train members. Maintain and align with stakeholders to ensure a healthy balance between market needs, innovation and sustaining the product life cycle.
Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate with stakeholders on their needs and concerns. Align with stakeholders, including program and line management, on vision, content and prioritization. Maintain a trusted partnership with the train and key stakeholders in the train. Show effective negotiation and influencing skills. Act as an escalation level and coach for the Product Owners within the ART.
Healthy Backlog Management: Keep an economic view on the long term train backlog to meet objectives. Challenge guardrails, while balancing high impact, early feedback and low cost over time. Align the ART Program Increment objectives with POs. Ensure the entire ART understands the context and direction. You feel comfortable in either the business or the technical domain. Determine whether the delivery of ART backlog items is done and accepted. Participate in System Demos and Inspect & Adapt sessions. Come up with scenarios and trade-offs in case of escalations. Manage priorities of escalations during the Program Increment (PI).
Service Management: Review agreements (SLA's) with business for all services. Support IT and BPI in TAP (budget) process with respect to the ART.
Represent ART in the Portfolio Kanban meetings: Work together with Epic owners and propose WSJF values after Analysis phase. In some cases, be the epic owner for ART related epics. Translate the Portfolio Kanban to a PI roadmap and present it to key stakeholders. Attend Portfolio rituals like Portfolio Kanban meeting and pre-PI events.
Drive digitization of BPI sector: Work with BPI competency center leads to digitize competence standards and update tooling accordingly. Work with multiple BPI teams to digitize their way of working and processes, create a central source of truth for data and a more efficient digitally backed way of working

Education and ExperienceMSc+ level in IT or business or equivalent combination of education and experience
10+ years of experience in digital/IT product management, must have a good technical and/or business understanding and understanding of WoW in IT
5+ years of experience as Product Owner/Product Manager or CPO
Proven operational track record
Proven strong communication skills
Experience with agile way of working (e.g. SAFe) is a plus, preferably acting as a CPO, RTE or PO
