Chief Programs Officer
Chief Programs Officer Requisition Number 2024-7981 Overview

The Chief Program Officer is charged with developing, promoting and managing a robust life and workforce readiness program. Directs and brings innovative ideas to drive the club-wide operations of all programs with broad oversight of program activities.  Plans, develop, and oversee implementation of programs and motivates managers and staff to implement long term strategies to achieve organizational goals.

 

Implementing strategy for positive youth development and member experience including program quality, partnership development and life-enhancing direction.  In collaboration with other senior leaders, the Chief Program Officer develops and monitors goals, strategic ambition and plans around programmatic alignment, financial management, and technology.  

Responsibilities

Leadership:

Direct managers in fulfilling and making appropriate choices for our members in educational, personal, physical, social, emotional, vocational, and spiritual needs.Innovates new models of organization wide program goals (outcomes and outputs) that ensure compliance and organizational success.Develop teams to manage Workforce Development programs and activities for BGCAA Club Members that create workforce readiness.Commits to data-driven decision making with a focus on Optimal Club Experience and Optimal Staff Experience.

 

Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement long-term strategies to achieve organizational goals.Conduct in-depth analysis of the organization's programs to ensure programs are aligned with the organization’s vision and mission.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the strategic plan, adjusting as needed to ensure ongoing success of the organization.Ensure compliance with organizations expectations including but not limited to reporting, assessments, and evaluations.Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress towards strategic goals and identify areas for improvement.

 

Resource Management

Oversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and control of projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, to meet the organizational needs.Participate in the development; implementation and monitoring of the Club’s annual budget, ensuring that club-wide programs and activities are operated within established budgetary guidelines.

 

 Board – Committee Development

Participates in and reports on operations and youth development strategy at BGCAA board meetings. Coordinates and leads Impact Committee meetings, including preparing meeting agendas and reporting on meeting activities.

Ability to develop a clear and compelling vision for the organization's continued success.Anticipate industry trends and potential challenges and make necessary adjustments to ongoing programs to ensure the efficacy of the programs.Creating and implementing comprehensive strategic plans.Ability to set a vision for excellence across multiple Club locations and develop a training, support, and accountability structure to ensure the successful implementation of that vision.Leadership skills include the ability to persuade and motivate staff to achieve organizational goals.Knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, procedures and principles and practices of non-profit organizations and youth development servicesAbility to manage and implement multiple projects and programs and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision. Qualifications Four-year degree from an accredited college or university or a minimum of ten years previous management experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth development organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.Ability to communicate ideas effectively to the public.Ability to deal effectively with members in all types of situations, including discipline problems.Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management.Demonstrated ability in working with youth, parents, and community leaders.
