Chief Revenue Officer (CRO)
Overview Juncos Hollinger Racing is seeking a dedicated and skilled Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to join our team! Responsibilities Position Summary: The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) is responsible for driving revenue growth and maximizing profitability for Juncos Hollinger Racing. This executive role focuses on developing and executing a comprehensive revenue strategy across sponsorships, partnerships, merchandising, ticket sales, and other revenue streams. The CRO will collaborate with the executive team to ensure alignment with the organization's goals while building strong relationships with sponsors, partners, JHR sponsors finders, JHR drivers, general media and fans to fuel the team's long-term success. Key Responsibilities: Revenue Strategy & Growth Develop and implement a robust revenue growth strategy that leverages all available income streams, including sponsorships, advertising, licensing, and merchandise sales. Identify and pursue new business opportunities to enhance revenue and expand market presence national and internationally. Monitor market trends and competitive dynamics to identify potential revenue-driving initiatives. Responsible for ensuring the reputation and financial health of JHR by verifying background checks on potential sponsors or partners, so time and resource costs are properly charged and accounted for. Marketing decks & Planning campaigns: responsible for maintaining up-to-date marketing decks that can be utilized at any point in time by the JHR Commercial or Marketing teams. Ensures metrics are continually reviewed and sponsors adjusted as required. Plans campaigns to create interest and drive brand recognition, utilizing their negotiation skills and experience to determine the best type of media to employ. Legal and Contractual Management: Ensures all marketing agreements are legally sound and adhere to regulations. They oversee contract negotiations and compliance with contractual obligations to protect the team's interests in conjunction with the JHR legal department. Sponsorships & Partnerships Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate sponsors, ensuring mutually beneficial partnerships. Negotiate sponsorship agreements that align with the team’s brand and deliver value to sponsors. Oversee the creation and execution of sponsorship activation plans to maximize partner engagement and ROI. Manages budgets allocated for sponsor activations and hospitality programs. This involves collaborating with internal team accountant department and ensuring benefits provided as part of sponsorship agreements are costed out and costs accounted for as part of the sponsorship agreement. JHR Sponsors Finders: Makes sure that every sponsor finder has all the proper materials, tools and updates for Marketing Decks, NDA’s, sponsor agreements draft at all times. It is also responsible for all the coaching and strategies implementations considering team philosophy in order to maximize the sales pitch. Fan Engagement & Experience Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to enhance fan engagement and increase ticket sales and attendance at events. Innovate the fan experience to drive loyalty, merchandise sales, and digital revenue opportunities. Leverage digital platforms and social media to engage fans and generate additional revenue streams. Merchandising & Licensing Oversee the development of the team’s merchandise strategy, ensuring alignment with brand identity. Identify licensing opportunities to expand the team’s brand reach and create additional revenue. Is responsible for ensuring that there is a monthly sales report and a systematic inventory control. Leadership & Team Collaboration Lead a high-performing revenue team, fostering collaboration and accountability. Partner with marketing, operations, and finance to ensure alignment and maximize revenue opportunities. Provide regular reports and insights to the CEO and Board of Directors on revenue performance and growth initiatives. Capacity to make informed decisions under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively during race weekends and critical events. Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, and unexpected challenges. Communication: Managing and maximizing the team's public relations, communications, and media presence. Crisis Communication: Proficiency in managing sensitive or crisis situations, including developing communication plans and handling media inquiries Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred). Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in revenue generation, business development, or sales leadership roles. Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth, preferably in sports, entertainment, or motorsports. Experience securing and managing major sponsorship deals is highly desirable. Skills: Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on revenue opportunities. Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills. Teamwork skills Exceptional leadership and team management abilities. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Proficiency in Spanish or any other language would be highly valued. Sponsorship Sales Expertise Deep knowledge of sponsorship acquisition and activation, including cultivating relationships with corporate sponsors and creating value-driven sponsorship packages. Sponsorship Renewals and Upselling: Identifies opportunities for sponsorship renewal and upselling. They analyze sponsor satisfaction, ROI metrics, and market trends to propose tailored sponsorship packages that align with sponsors' evolving marketing goals and budgets. Relationship Building Exceptional interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with sponsors, fans, stakeholders, general media and industry partners Combine relationship management skills with strategic thinking and analytical acumen to deliver value for sponsors, enhance the team's commercial performance, and strengthen its position in the competitive world of IndyCar. Financial Acumen Strong financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting skills to optimize revenue streams and ensure profitability for the team. Marketing and Brand Development Ability to align the team’s brand with revenue goals by developing innovative marketing strategies, enhancing fan engagement, and leveraging digital platforms. Data-Driven Decision Making Proficiency in using analytics and data to measure ROI on sponsorships, ticket sales, and marketing campaigns, ensuring resources are allocated effectively. Industry Knowledge Comprehensive understanding of the motorsport and IndyCar industry, including trends, competitive dynamics, and the unique demands of racing teams. Leadership and Team Management Strong leadership skills to inspire and guide sales, marketing, and business development teams while fostering collaboration and accountability. Event and Hospitality Management Expertise in managing race-day events, VIP experiences, and corporate hospitality programs to create memorable experiences for sponsors and fans. Adaptability and Innovation Agility to adapt to the fast-paced and ever-changing environment of racing, coupled with the creativity to identify new revenue opportunities and stay ahead of the competition. Performance Metrics to Influence Compensation Revenue Growth Targets: Year-over-year increase in team revenue (e.g., $5M+ in incremental growth). Sponsorship Acquisition: Number of high-value sponsorships secured annually. Fan Engagement Metrics: Growth in ticket sales, attendance rates, and digital fan engagement. Merchandising and Licensing: Increase in merchandise sales and licensing revenue streams.
