**Overview**
**Hackensack Meridian Health Jersey Shore University Medical Center (JSUMC) in Neptune, New Jersey stands out as the Jersey Shore’s premier not-for-profit health care facility. Hackensack Meridian Health has consistently been rated among the top performing health systems in New Jersey for clinical quality. JSUMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center and houses K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital, the first and most comprehensive provider of pediatric care in Monmouth and Ocean counties, including a pediatric emergency department and acute care units supported by over 100 pediatric sub-specialists. JSUMC’s adult inpatient psychiatric unit (Rosa 2) is a 29-bed unit with 26 voluntary beds and 3 Short Term Care Facility (STCF) beds, treating adults suffering from psychiatric and emotional disorders. Within the hospital, we offer psychological services to patients on the inpatient psychiatric unit, including individual and group therapy. In addition, we operate on the Consultation Liaison service, providing psychological interventions to patients across the lifespan with comorbid psychiatric and general medical conditions on the medical floors. Consults come from a variety of referral sources throughout the hospital and include a range of service needs, including evaluation, treatment recommendations, supportive therapy (grief, trauma), behavioral issues, managing depression and anxiety symptoms secondary to medical issues and/or procedures, issues pertaining to bioethics, and familial support.**
**Further, conveniently located on JSUMC’s campus, we offer a comprehensive array of outpatient Behavioral Health services, including Adult and Children’s Behavioral Health Services and Therapeutic Nursery. Our office offers specialized therapy, resources and programs for adults and children and adolescents ages 3 to 18, and their families.**
**Keeping in line with the values of an academic medical center, we have developed and grown both internship and externship training programs for doctoral level psychology students. We have been approved for an APA accreditation site visit this year. We also function as teachers and clinical supervisors for the Psychiatry Residency Program. As the training programs continue to grow at JSUMC, we are looking for dedicated and passionate supervisors, teachers, and clinicians to provide training and supervision to the next generation of mental health professionals while also providing clinical services to our community of patients.**
**The Hackensack Meridian Health System currently consists of several licensed psychologists each with specific areas of specialized treatment focus. We serve our community as psychotherapists, evaluators, consultants, and supervisors for a broad range of training programs. We are committed to evidenced-based therapeutic approaches, social justice, and diversity. We are pleased to announce a position for a full time licensed child/adolescent psychologist. The job description is as follows:**
**Responsibilities**
1. **The Psychologist functions as a psychologist and supervisor of mental health services under the direction of the Chief Psychologist and the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry. Specific scope of clinical practice will be articulated in the delineation of privileges as issued in the process of appointment to the Medical Staff.**
2. **Responsible for the provision of clinical services, including:** **a. Conducts diagnostic evaluations and demonstrates knowledge and skills in the use and interpretation of assessment tools and subsequent integration into the formulation of a diagnostic impression** **b. Provides effective, evidence-based psychological interventions for children and adolescents in both inpatient and outpatient settings** **c.Assumes the duties and responsibilities of a psychologist as prescribed by training standards and delineated by the medical staff appointment.**
**3) Responsible for the provision of clinical supervision of Psychology Interns, Psychology Externs, Psychiatry Residents, Fellows and other students and mental health professionals and students, as assigned.**
**4) Become a member of faculty at the Hackensack School of Medicine, included in the teaching and training of medical students and medical residents through our GME committee.**
**4. Functions as a consultant in the Department of Psychiatry in the areas of Behavioral Health, and provides behavioral health consultations within the medical center.**
**5. Participates in professional and community educational conferences and seminars as part of professional development. We welcome innovative ideas for research projects.**
**Qualifications**
**Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:**
**1. A Doctoral Degree in Psychology (Psy.D. or Ph.D.); 2. Licensed or license-eligible in the state of NJ; 3. Experience providing clinical training and supervision, and a commitment to training the next generation of psychologists 4. Sensitivity to multiculturalism and diversity. 5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills**
