ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities

Provide attentive and nurturing care to children ages 6 weeks to 6 years, meeting their physical, emotional, and developmental needs. Create a stimulating and age-appropriate learning environment through play, exploration, and sensory experiences. Establish trusting and supportive relationships with infants and their families, maintaining open and ongoing communication. Follow daily routines and schedules to ensure consistency and predictability for children. Implement developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum to promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines. Collaborate with team members and participate in professional development opportunities.             

Essential Job Functions

Promotes a unified, collaborative atmosphere in all communications and actions. Provides quality childhood education for clients of Easterseals Lonestar in whatever capacity is required in accordance with skills and training. Maintains awareness of trends and best practices in the field of child Development.

Required Education and Job Experience

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; CDA (Child Development Associate) or equivalent preferred. Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting preferred. Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate practices. Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers. Patient, compassionate, and a genuine love for working with children. Must successfully complete CPR/ First Aid training requirements and obtain certification.  Must possess a current valid Texas driver’s license, proof of insurance, and have a driving record that meets the standards of the agency.
