Child Protection Partnership and Capacity Building Officer

Job Overview/Summary:

 
Child Protection Partnership Officer is a key position supporting the partnership component in Child Protection (CP) sub-unit. With the overall objective of achieving high quality and compliant programming, the main goal of this position is to support a partnership portfolio within CP and as well as guide capacity building initiatives for CP partners. As guided by the CP Coordinator,  she/he will be responsible for identification of potential partners in IRC’s implementation locations, contribute actively in the partnership establishment process with partnership team, work closely with the partners for program design, logical framework, and budget preparation, conduct regular technical program coordination meetings with partners to monitor implementation, join partner monitoring meetings with partnership team, and support donor visit to partners when required, plan and closely follow-up partner’s capacity development plans.  The role has no supervisory responsibilities but collaborates with other Child protection and partnership sector staff.

Specifically, the Child Protection Partnership Officer will be responsible for:


·        Work closely with Partnership team and oversee partnership portfolio within CP including but not limited to: maintain close relationships with CP partners, conduct regular meetings and monitoring visits, make first review of partners’ reports, participate in proposals development, project opening and implementation meetings, etc.

·        Support child protection to identify new partners/cooperation opportunities, and start partnership establishment process together with partnership team

·        Work closely with field level partnership focal points from child protection team to ensure proper implementation on the field for specific program activities

·        Assist in the overall management of all CP partnerships as delegated by the CP Coordinator

·        Where required, provide administrative and language translation support during essential Partnership meetings to ensure timely and effective partner program, finance, and compliance review and reflection (monitoring).

·        Conduct a capacity needs assessment of partners and communicate findings to the supervisor for action.

·        Based on findings from the capacity needs assessment, develop partners’ capacity development plan and ensure its timely implementation.

·        Work with CP Managers and Senior Officers and to identify and propose priority training and capacity sessions staff and stakeholders.

·        Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit, oversight and guidance to staff enabling successful performance of duties.

Requirements:

·        Language: fluent in Ukrainian and English.

·        Degree or equivalent in International Development or Affairs, Business, Social Science, Humanitarian Work, Social Work, Human Rights or related field; Advanced degree a plus – or equivalent work experience

·        Minimum of 2 years’ experience with I/NGOs in similar area of work

·        Highly organized, close attention to detail, and ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fluid environment

·        Demonstrated experience working with partners

·        Awareness of key donor rules and regulations

·        Ability to work well independently but also coordinate with other teams

·        Willingness to travel occasionally to field offices and partner locations

·        Experience facilitating group activities, trainings and workshops and mentoring others

·        Excellent communication skills

·        Demonstrated understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients/beneficiaries

·        Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team setting

·        Very strong English writing and editing skills; strong computer skills.
