Job Summary St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Pa is recruiting a full time BC/BE Child Abuse Pediatrician to join our team in our Child Protection Program. The Child Protection Program was established in 2004 to provide comprehensive medical evaluation to victims of child maltreatment in the greater Philadelphia area. Current staff members includes one board certified child abuse pediatrician, a dedicated social worker, nurse, and support staff. The prospective candidates should have a vested interest in program development and education. Each year, this program provides hundreds of medical evaluations for suspected cases of physical abuse, sexual abuse and neglect. These multidisciplinary evaluations occur in the inpatient setting, outpatient clinics, as well as the city’s regional Child Advocacy Center. Our team works closely with local investigative to ensure timely communication of the medical findings with each case. The program is committed towards educating trainees as well as medical students, residents and fellows in the region. The Child Protection Program is part of St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, a nonprofit 188-bed pediatric-care facility, level I trauma center, and the only dedicated pediatric burn center in the region. St Chris is one of the oldest pediatric institutions in the county, historically known for the care it provides to this large community of need.
