This unit regulates compliance and offers consultation to licensed child care centers throughout the state of Iowa. This position requires significant travel and covers multiple counties in Iowa. Responsibilities: Ensure center complaince with child care licensing standards. Responsibilities: Drives to child care centers across Iowa. Utilizes a computer and various software programs to enter or retrieve child care information. Evaluates program performance by way of observation of interactions, inspection of facilities, review of postings, inspection of files, and examination of policy & procedures. Evaluates, interprets and operationalizes Iowa Code, Iowa Admin Rule and Licensing Standards. (Mastery of 237A, 441-109, Comm 204) Displays a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently. Works with minimal supervision. Demonstrates responsible behavior and attention to detail. Delivers timely reports that are accurate and concise. Demonstrates interviewing skills and techniques Utilizes good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions. Provides consultation for problem solving needs of the center. Establishes and maintains a network of stakeholders to advance child care efforts. Evaluates aspects of cultural competence and child developmental needs relative to child care standards. Manages time and activities to meet deadlines. Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information. Listens to others and responds appropriately. Recognizes when concerns and success should be elevated to their supervisor. Responds appropriately to supervision. Makes an effort to follow policy and cooperate with supervisors. Geographical Information: The domicile for this location is Sioux City. The area of work will primarily involved 10 counties in NW Iowa. Interviews will occur in Des Moines.
