Children's Rights Manager

 

PRH is the world’s largest trade publisher, boasting an impressive list of authors from cherished favourites to future classics across many genres and formats. We are looking for a talented salesperson to join our Children’s Publishing Team as a Rights Manager. 

 

The role of the Children’s Rights Manager is to secure subsidiary rights book sales throughout the world and to communicate those sales internally as well as to authors and other external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

Manage the submissions of Australian and New Zealand Children’s titles to Penguin Random House group and non-group overseas companies for English rights sales Manage submissions of selected Australian and New Zealand titles to foreign language publishers/agents Coordinate material and appointments for book fairs with publishers  Build and maintain relationships with Australian children’s authors and agents Effectively communicate rights updates to the Children’s Publishing team  Keep an organised system of sold and available rights for easy reference Draw up sub-rights contracts and reversion paperwork when necessary

 

About you:

Rights and permissions experience Experience with licensing (preferable but not necessary) Sales and/or marketing experience (preferable but not necessary) Experience within the book industry (preferable but not necessary) Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Strong negotiation skills High level attention to detail and accuracy
