China Tax Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced China Tax Manager to oversee corporate tax and VAT compliance matters for our China operations. The role is based in Singapore and requires quarterly travel to China. You will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of compliance-related tax matters, supporting the Asia Pacific Tax Leader, and contributing to the strategic tax framework across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage corporate tax compliance and VAT filing requirements for China, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.

Provide M&A project advice, including tax structuring and implications related to transactions involving China.

Collaborate with local teams and external advisors to address compliance issues and implement process improvements.

Connect with local government entities, including tax authorities, to ensure proper handling of regulatory matters.

Provide support for tax audits and tax dispute resolution, as needed.

Ensure proper documentation is maintained for all compliance matters in accordance with regulatory standards.

Assist with quarterly and annual tax provisions, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.

Support VAT export refund processes, ensuring eligibility and compliance with local regulations.

Conduct quarterly trips to China to liaise with local teams and regulatory bodies as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

At least 4-5 years of experience in China tax, preferably within a Big 4 accounting firm.

Strong technical expertise in China VAT, corporate tax compliance, and VAT export refund processes.

Experience providing M&A project advice with a focus on China tax implications.

Ability to manage relationships and connect with local government bodies, including tax authorities.

Fluency in both Mandarin and English is required to manage effective communication with local teams and regulatory bodies in China.

Willingness to travel to China quarterly.
