Job Overview:

As an integral member of our team, this psychotherapist will provide outpatient consultation and therapy services. You will work primarily with patients diagnosed with GI and other chronic illnesses, including medical obesity, abdominal pain, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, constipation, Disorders of the Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBIs) and diabetes

Qualifications:

Required:

PhD, PsyD, EdD, or LCSWNJ LCSW or Psychologist license AHA BLS Provider CertificationValid Driver s licenseAbility to relate therapeutically with the professional team, children, adolescents and their parents/significant others

Preferred:

Specific training and skills in pediatric chronic pain, as well as cognitive behavioral, biofeedback and hypnotherapy interventionsExperience working with children/teens with chronic illness and/or health psychology

Certifications and Licenses Required:

NJ LCSW or Psychologist licenseAHA BLS Provider CertificationValid Driver s license

Scheduling Requirements:

Full Time40 hours/weekFlexible Scheduling * Telemed Options AvailablePartial remote includes after school/evening hours (ex: 4-7pm)

Essential Functions:

Performing complete psycho-diagnostic evaluations and Identify realistic goals for psychotherapyProviding effective individual, family and group psychotherapy including the use of cognitive behavioral, biofeedback and hypnotherapy interventions with children/adolescents. Evaluation and treatment of medical obesity clients using motivational interview techniques.Evaluation and treatment of pre-surgical, bariatric surgery candidates.Attending program development and case conferences for patients treated or evaluatedUnderstanding developmental needs of patient when planning and implementing treatmentsObtaining and interpreting patient s behavior based on an understanding of cognitive, bio-psychosocial and aging processesProviding in-services to staff and community agencies as necessarySupervising staff, fellows, interns and externs as needed
