What you'll be doing

As a member of the CIBC Asset Management Institutional Product Team, you’ll be responsible for supporting and executing product management and development initiatives of the Institutional channel, including the Private Investment Counsel channel according to the Product Strategic Plans. For product development initiatives, you will assist in leading the development and implementation of strategic and tactical business plans for the Institutional channel and the Private Investment Counsel. You will be accountable for conducting analytical work and research, including maintaining comprehensive institutional competitor information on industry trends, channel and client needs, competitor capabilities and developments. As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll also lead day-to-day and ongoing account administration and account management in relation to the Policy Summary System (PSS) and the Client Central Database (CCDB) for CIBC’s internally managed strategies and mandates. This role will coordinate and implement investment policy changes and product enhancements with key stakeholders, while also providing operational support for institutional and retail product related transactions and activities.

How you'll succeed

Product development and management - Strong knowledge and experience in institutional asset management product development and management and project management sufficient to identify, develop, and implement approved initiatives (experience preferably in asset management).

Analytical - Understand and interpret complex information, identify patterns and trends in new or strategic areas, and develop recommendations, often with minimal direction in order to respond to urgent business priorities.

Leadership - Well-developed management and leadership skills sufficient to achieve results within a matrix organization, including the ability to bring about change at a senior level.

Relationship and stakeholder management - Meet business objectives by managing relationships and working effectively with internal and external partners including Operations, Tax, Legal, Distribution, Marketing and other lines of business, partners and vendors.

Communication - Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical to synthesize complex product concepts and analysis to simple and easy to understand formats suitable for the audience and channel.

Multi-tasking oriented and time management - Highly capable of handling multiple deliverables at once with the ability to prioritize urgent tasks according to their timelines.

Who you are

You can demonstrate experience in institutional investment product management and development (7+ years). You also have in-depth knowledge of CIBC Asset Management products. You have strategic planning and analytic skills sufficient to establish and co-ordinate complex assignments and projects which can be ambiguous in nature. CFA candidate or charterholder is preferred. Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course is preferred. Experience with Mercer Insight, eVestments or similar databases is preferred.
