Job Description
Seeking a Construction Material Technician to perform testing and inspection services for various building construction projects. Responsible for performing on-site testing of concrete, soil, aggregates, asphalt, steel, and more to ensure they meet project specifications. Documenting test results & field activities daily and communicating directly with owners reps, project managers, contractors and other on-site personnel. MUST be willing to travel as required, as far as Illinois and northern Indiana.
Responsibilities:
-Conducts quality control testing at project sites, including concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate and reinforcing steel.
-Inspects construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans and/or proposals and bridge projects.
-Verifies plan quantities and calculations with as bid plans, prepares and maintains project records and reports and performs other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer.
-Notifies the Contractor or the Project Engineer with status updates or about non-conforming work.

Skills & Qualifications:
-Basic understanding of construction drawings/ blueprints
-Strong report writing and field note taking skills
-Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders
-Willingness to work outdoors on job sites year-round
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00
