CityLift Mechanic provide our drivers with safe, reliable transportation and timely service repairs.     To view Transdev's Purpose and how we make a difference follow this link: https://youtu.be/ilO5cv0G4mQ   What we offer:   Hourly rate $26.26 (not a flat rate) with Annual raises Medical/Dental/Vision health benefits - Blue Cross Blue Shield* 401(K) retirement plan* Paid time off and holidays* Ability to advance your career Tool allowance $450 after one year Uniforms provided Overview of Position: Diagnoses and repairs various systems with the most complicated/complex problems under general supervision.  Key Responsibilities: Troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs, maintains and installs component parts of transit vehicles.Inspects and diagnoses problems on all assigned transit vehicles and equipment.Services and/or repairs all assigned transit vehicles and related light and heavy mechanical equipment.Performs preventative maintenance procedure inspections to transit vehicles as required by Federal, state, and local guidelines; performs preventative maintenance as needed.Performs upgrades and/or modifications on coach systems and equipment.Performs road calls and on-the-road repairs as needed.Assists and monitors the work of Mechanic Bs and Cs on the work team.Maintains a clean and well-organized work area.Other duties as required. Education, Licensing, and Certifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED.  Must be age 21 or older.  Must possess a Commercial Driving License with passenger and airbrake endorsements. Education Preferred:  Appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred but not required. Master Mechanic certification preferred.  Experience: Field and years of experience required: 5 or more years of progressive experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of heavy duty transit equipment Experience preferred:   Skills and Knowledge Required: Good written and oral communication skillsBroad understanding of all mechanical systems related to transit vehiclesAbility to read, interpret and apply documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Ability to read blue prints, schematics, and other mechanical diagramsAbility to read and write routine reports, forms, and other documentation or correspondence Ability to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to detailsAbility to assist others and monitor their work for accuracy and completeness Skills and Knowledge Preferred:  Travel requirement outside of immediate area (as a percent)
