DESCRIPTION

We are hiring Civil Associate II with 2+ years of experience to support our bridge in our Moon Township, PA (Pittsburgh area) office. If you like to make a difference and contribute on design teams of simple span bridge or complex bridge designs using the latest design software and working with a group of dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced individuals that work hard but like to have fun then you will fit in our group. RESPONSIBILITIES

Civil Associate II tasks vary from preparing quantity and cost estimate calculations to designing steel and prestressed concrete beams for a simple span bridge, precast reinforced box culverts, working on the design of a retaining wall with global stability issues. Assisting on the overall preparation of developing the structure plans, or any other task associated with the design of a transportation structure. You may also have the opportunity to conduct field work performing bridge inspections.  Most days will be spent in the office working on bridge design tasks and working closely with a professional engineer. Assists with preparing and updating engineering calculations to be used in design reports and final design. Prepares reports detailing conceptual designs or analysis performed, along with results. Assists with quantities and project cost estimates. Communicates with Engineers and/or Project Managers regarding project issues. Coordinates with design technicians to ensure timely and accurate deliverables. Attends internal and external project meetings and participates as necessary. Assists with document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits. Assists with preparation for client and project meetings. Occasionally visits project sites, reporting findings to Engineers and/or Project Managers. May provide basic guidance and informal training to less experienced personnel.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering from ABET Accredited University focusing on bridges/structures. 2+ years of bridge design, analysis, inspection, load rating and training material development. Strong technical skills and abilities. Computer skills desired include Microstation, Open Bridge Designer, Finite Element Software, Bridge Design Software, Microsoft Office. EIT required. Certified Bridge Safety Inspection (CBSI) preferred. Master’s degree preferred. Remote Pilot in Command certificate preferred. This position does not offer sponsorship.

COMPENSATION 

The approximate compensation range for this position is $67,059 to $105,622.  This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
