Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Civil CAD Designer to support land development projects at our civil engineering firm. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with staff, occasional clients, and contractors. Your main responsibilities will involve preparing civil engineering drawings for site development, including grading, storm water drainage, sanitary sewers, water mains, storm sewers, and on-site waste-water systems. You will work on a variety of projects including educational, residential/multifamily, retail, restaurant, and subdivision developments. ResponsibilitiesPrepare civil engineering drawings for site development projects.CADD input of site layouts, grading plans, storm water drainage systems, sanitary sewers, water mains, storm sewers, and on-site disposal systems.Communicate effectively with staff, occasional clients, and contractors.Ensure projects meet strict deadlines and work efficiently.Collaborate on a wide variety of project types to gain diverse experience.Essential Skills/QualificationsMust have good communication skills and a commitment to meeting project deadlines and challenges while working in a team setting.Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Ability to work quickly and efficiently to meet strict deadlines.Proficiency in civil engineering/site development-based CAD drafting (AutoCAD Civil 3D).Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, such as Word and Excel.Experience in land development, civil engineering, and drafting.Familiarity with various types of construction plans and developments, including residential and commercial projects.Knowledge of residential and commercial septic systems.Ability to handle a wide range of surveys, including topographical, boundary, and wetland surveys.Work Environment
This position offers a regular work schedule, with 5 days in the office and overtime available on Saturdays. Typical work weeks range from 40-45 hours. You must be willing to commute to Clarkston, MI, and be comfortable with the presence of office dogs. The work environment is family-oriented and tight-knit, with a casual atmosphere and a diverse range of projects to ensure you will rarely ever get bored.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
