Pennoni currently has an opening in our Cape May Court House office for a full-time Professional Civil Engineer.
The ideal candidate is expected to complete engineering design of public and private site development projects, within budgetary and schedule targets, including drawings, supporting calculations, and report writing.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Prepare detailed engineering design drawings from Schematic Design through Construction Contract Documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including but not limited to site layout and grading, drainage analysis, utility systems, stormwater management systems, soil erosion and sediment control measures, pedestrian pathways, roadways, and parking facilities. Work with a team of professionals to support municipal, residential, and commercial site/civil engineering projects. Assist in the preparation of technical specifications and stormwater/engineering reports, cut/fill calculations, review of shop drawings, RFI’s, and design clarifications. Prepare materials/unit cost breakdown for Municipal Bonding requirements. Complete field inspections of stormwater management facilities for documentation to Municipalities. Prepare Municipal Site Plan submissions. Interact/meet with clients and regulatory agencies.Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, practices, methods, and techniques required for planning, managing, designing, and constructing complex public and private sector projects. Extensive knowledge of civil site development best practices including layout, grading, stormwater management, utilities, roadway design and signage standards, erosion control, regulatory approvals, construction process, etc. Well-developed knowledge of land use planning including principals, practices, and techniques, and local, county, and state land use regulations. Ability to manage projects effectively, multitask, and prioritize workflow to satisfy multiple project schedules and budgets Exceptional client and contractor relationship management skills. Ability to provide effective staff management and leadership. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point. Strong written and verbal communication skills; public speaking and presenting. Motivated, organized, and able to work well independently and with others. Excellent attention to detail and time management.Requirements for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. New Jersey Professional Engineer’s License. Minimum of 5 years recent experience in Civil Engineering. Minimum of 5 years recent experience providing public testimony to municipal boards and other local boards and committees. Experience in project management of site design projects. Experience in proposal writing. Experience with state and municipal land use permitting.
